Where does 31 hours in travel take you? (part III)

From Frankfurt Airport I had to travel to my university town of Heidelberg. There were a couple of options; take the Bahn/train, take a bus, take a taxi or take a shuttle. Since I had a ton luggage, train was not an option; a taxi was a good one but it was €120; so it was either a bus or a shuttle. I decided to book a shuttle for 1 pm, a couple of hours ahead of my arrival. But since everything went so smoothly, I was at the meeting point point at 9.30 am. I emailed them and asked if I can get it rescheduled and they said yes!

I would highly recommend to use the airport shuttle (link below) if you are travelling to Heidelberg from the airport (or vice versa). If you are a student, it costs €16, the train and bus costs slightly more. Plus, they are very flexible with their booking, if you arrive late or early, they can reschedule your trip with ease. I emailed after reaching and they rescheduled it for 11.30 in a couple of minutes.

Travelling by road meant I get to travel by the world renowned Autobahn highways (federal controlled-access highway system). And boy, it was thrilling. The cars were zooming past the bulky shuttle by the speed of light. No speed limit is real.

Depending on the time of the day and your luck, you might get the whole shuttle for yourself. There was another passenger with me in a shuttle meant for ~8 people. The trip is directly from the FRA to Heidelberg without a stop. In Heidelberg, they drop you near the Crowne Plaza hotel (https://goo.gl/maps/TjrK33H6xNPmhApBA).

Zooming on the Autobahn Highways

It roughly takes 40 mins to an hour to reach Heidelberg. Since I had completed 3 semesters online, I had made a couple of friends. One of my friends came to pick me up at the Crowne Plaza hotel. Not knowing how the city works, she helped a ton to get around the city and to my temporary accommodation.

Soon enough, I dived onto the bed and sept like a baby at 4pm to wake up at 6am next morning.

From start to end, it took roughly 31 hours, traveling with 4 heavy bags during a pandemic to a different country without permanent accommodation and a visa about to expire.
